General Information
Recommended vitamins and herbs:
  • Prenatal Vitamin
  • Red Raspberry - 6 pills daily (2 with each meal) or 2 cups of tea daily
  • Vitamin E - 400 I.U. daily
  • Vitamin C with Bioflavinoids - 500 mg daily (1 pill with breakfast and lunch)
  • Calcium/Magnesium - 1200 mg (take in the evening just before bedtime) Make sure that the calcium/magnesium ration is 2:1 (ex: 800 mg calcium/ 400 mg magnesium)
  • Chelated Iron/Floradix
  • Flax Seed - 1-2 T or 6 pills daily

Additional herbs that are beneficial during pregnancy
  • Nettles - nourishing to the kidneys, eases leg cramps and other muscle spasms, diminishes pain during and after birth, great source of vitamin K which helps to prevent hemorrhage, reduces hemorrhoids, diminishes varicose veins, increases richness and amount of breastmilk.
  • Dandelion - nourishes liver, nourishes kidneys
  • Maternitea - usually found at Sun Harvvest or Whole Foods - this tea tastes good and is very nourishing for pregnant moms.
  • Skullcap or Passionflower - "relaxing herbs" great for reducing anxiety or stress.
