Holly
is a wonderful homebirth midwife. She attended my second
birth, but with her guidance and education, it was the
first time I truly learned about the natural birthing
process. With her expert knowledge, extensive experience,
calm composure and knowing hands she kept myself and baby
healthy and safe throughout pregnancy and birth. I highly
recommend Holly to any pregnant woman wanting a homebirth.
She is thoughtful and respectful with a wisdom beyond
her years. Thank you Holly for being there. - Lynn

My
delivery started with my water breaking. Holly made
sure that the baby and I were safe and healthy all day
(25 hours) while we waited for labor to start. Once
it was time to deliver, our baby came quickly because
I was relaxed and confident in my body and my midwife.
It was perfect in every way and so peaceful. Such a
difference from our hospital birth with four strangers
yelling at me to "push".
Since the birth, I have felt SO well taken care of by
Holly. She has called to check on us several times and
has come to our house to see that baby and I are doing
well. My friends and family are just amazed by the wonderful
care I am receiving right here in my own home. Holly
has made our dream of a safe, quiet, peaceful homebirth
a reality. We thank God for her!

"Wow!
10 pounds, 6 ounces!!! Oh my goodness, I can’t believe
that big baby came out of me!!" These were my thoughts
after Holly Manzanera, my midwife weighed my newborn son
on August 3, 2003.
My labor and delivery with Seth was one of the best I’ve
ever experienced (out of 3, so far). After delivering
my second baby, I had terrible after-birth pains. For
this reason, I was VERY nervous about having another baby
at home without medication. Holly calmed my nerves with
her abundance of information and confidence that she could
make it work for me. She was right! Even though Seth was
10 pounds, he came the quickest, and I had the fastest
recovery yet.
People ask how in the world I birthed a 10 pound baby
at home with no anesthesia, and I think there are many
reasons. The first reason is that I have a fabulous husband
who is a GREAT birth coach. I also have a strong faith
in God, who gave me the strength to make it through the
pains of labor. In addition, when Holly and I first started
meeting for prenatal check-ups, she encouraged me to continue
exercising in preparation for labor. She also introduced
me to several herbs that helped strengthen my uterus and
kidneys. For these reasons, my body was strong and ready
to deliver a big baby.
I love working with a midwife throughout my pregnancies
and I ADORE being able to labor and deliver in my own
home. Everyone is so calm and the delivery room is my
own bedroom – there’s no place more relaxing
than that! For me, there is just no other way to have
a baby!
Sincerely,
Laurie |
